THE ART BOOK ORCHESTRA consists of re-compositions of 10 original sound art pieces (‘Affected As Only A Human Being Can Be’), incorporated in 10 different art books, which acts as the only sound-sources (live electronics) and thereby each play a new part as 10 different ‘Book instruments’ in a highly tactile, extraordinary digital concert form.
The musical atmosphere with the basis of the artists book ‘Affected As Only A Human Being Can Be’ is sombre, intense, distorted, and has a profound sence of musical space and depth - at times with a meditative character, slowly developing transitions and blooming characters that demands and attracts attention in minimalistic scenarios of sound.
As an electronic and electro acoustic composer and artist, Konrad Korabiewski is concerned and focused on absorption, content, athmosphere and the listening experience. Rather than using digital technology for its own purpose, he is exploring new possibilities for expressing philosophical views and artistic ideologies through music.

Like a sculptor Thomas Wagensommerer tries to carve the parameters of generated sound, based on an engine-like application, that works way more as a skeleton of this piece, than as its backdrop. Linked to a certain way of interdependence, the ongoing movement of the engine keeps extrapolating the evolution of auditory meshes, which blend in space, while indispensably being based on time.
Wie ein Bildhauer schnitzt Thomas Wagensommerer die Parameter des generierten Klangs, welcher auf
einer Triebwerk-ähnlichen Applikation beruht, die eher als Skelett des Stücks, denn als Kulisse
funktioniert. Aufgrund einer bestimmten gegenseitigen Abhängigkeit extrapoliert die permanente
Bewegung des Triebwerks eine Evolution von auditiven Geflechten, die sich in den Raum einfügen,
während sie unabdingbar an die Zeit gebunden sind.

Lives and works in Vienna, Austria. Studies of Digital Mediatechnology at the University of Applied
Sciences St. Pölten, Philosophy at the University Vienna, Transdiciplinary Art (TransArts) at the University
of Applied Arts Vienna. Works as mediaartist, musician and theoretician in both installative and
performative ways. Lecturer for Experimental Media at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten.
